- Who We Are: The CBWC Foundation is the financial branch of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. The CBWC is a denomination that spans the four western provinces of Canada as well as the North West and Yukon Territories.
- What We Do: The Foundation facilitates many functions within the CBWC: from administering grants and loans to both Churches and Ministry Students to managing financial assets within the CBWC.
- How We Operate Our aim is to live as stewards of the resources we’ve been given. We work to pair strong financial policy with a heart to fund kingdom growth across Western Canada. We work closely with our board and with the CBWC to insure these goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose to use the CBWC Foundation?
Low administration costs ensure maximum charitable support. The Foundation’s experience, financial expertise and efficient management costs deliver maximum support to the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC) each year. The Foundation allocates a small portion of its portfolio for management costs and reinvests part of the income earned from funds each year to maintain value relative to the rate of inflation.
Are you a registered charity?
Yes, we are registered with the Government of Canada. Our charitable registration number is: 86172 3526 RR0001.
How does a “Foundation” differ from an ordinary charity?
A Foundation has charitable status, but is different from a registered charity in that it is a charity for charities. Our Foundation’s basic directive is to receive various gifts and manage them for the long-term benefit of the CBWC and channel them to various ministries of the CBWC.
Do we have insurance like a bank?
We do not have Depositor’s Insurance as such, like a chartered bank does. However, the CBWC-F has been in operation for over 30 years as part of the CBWC, and we have always been able to honor all withdrawal requests through our strong reserve fund.
